What is Travel Keeper? Family travel, simplified.

Travel Keeper is a family travel brand built around the idea that you can take your kids to see the world without homeschooling them, quitting your job, or waiting for someday. It’s an travel advisor business, a trip planning app, and a blog, all run by me, Megan Condello.

If you’ve ever stared at a school calendar wondering how you’re going to fit a real trip into your family’s very real life, you’re in the right place.

Who runs Travel Keeper?

I’m Megan Condello, a family travel advisor based in Fairport, New York, and a mom of three girls.

Together with my husband Tim and our three kids, we’ve traveled to 24 countries and 36 U.S. states, all on regular public school schedules and standard PTO. We’ve been to all six Disney parks in the world. We’ve done a safari in Tanzania, a 240-hour visa-free transit through China, and more long-haul flights with three kids than I can count.

We don’t homeschool and we didn’t sell our house. We have jobs, a mortgage, two dogs, public schools we love, and sports teams the girls have played on since kindergarten.

And we still see the world. That’s the whole business.

Where did Travel Keeper start?

It started in China, about twelve years ago, before any of my kids existed.

My husband and I were traveling and I was seven weeks pregnant with our oldest. I remember thinking this might be our last big trip for a long time. Everyone tells you to enjoy it while you can, like travel and parenthood can’t coexist.

Three kids later, I’m happy to report they were wrong.

We didn’t stop traveling. We just got three more travel partners. And somewhere in there I realized I’d built the thing a lot of families are looking for…a way to do ambitious, bucket-list travel inside the constraints of an ordinary, scheduled, wonderful life.

What does Travel Keeper offer?

Four things, and they’re built to work together.

Travel consultancy services. I’m an Independent Affiliate of WorldVia Travel Network. I plan custom family trips, offer one-hour family travel consults, and book cruises. Cruise planning is complimentary since the cruise lines pay my commission. My specialty is family travel, Disney cruises, and complex multi-country itineraries.

The Travel Keeper app. A family trip planner for iOS and Android that organizes itineraries, packing lists, passports, points, and trip costs in one place. I built it because I ran our family’s travel out of a sprawling spreadsheet for over a decade and finally turned that system into something anyone can use. The free version stays free. Pro adds the tedious parts, like importing confirmations automatically.

The blog. Honest trip recaps, destination guides, and the practical how-to behind our travels. Carry-on packing, planning around a school calendar, what things actually cost.

The community. A place where real families share recommendations, ask questions, and help each other plan trips that work.

What does Travel Keeper believe?

Four things guide everything here.

You don’t have to blow up your life to give your kids the world. A lot of the big family travel accounts suggest that real travel requires quitting your job or pulling your kids from school. It doesn’t. There’s another way, and it’s the one most of us are living. I’m here for the families with mortgages, careers, and a school calendar to work around.

Intention beats income. We fly economy, use points strategically, pack carry-on only, and plan around the windows we have. The families who travel most aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets. They’re usually the ones who decided travel was a priority and planned like it.

Honesty over highlight reels. Travel with kids includes bickering, hard days, jet lag, and meltdowns in foreign airports at midnight. I’ll always show you the real version, because the real version is the one that helps.

Kids are more capable than we give them credit for. Mine carry their own bags, sit through long travel days, and have learned that the boring stretches are the setup for the parts they’ll talk about for years. Travel doesn’t just show kids the world. It builds who they become.

A quick promise

I’m not here to be an influencer. I’m not interested in selling you products I don’t use or making my content the product. I want the tools I build, the trips I plan, and what I share here to be what actually helps you.

I’m a real mom building real things for real families, and your trust is the thing I’m least willing to spend.

So whether you’re planning your family’s first international trip or adding another country to the list, I’m glad you’re here.

Let’s plan something good.

Megan
